Create a Sexy Look that Works for You

Sexy is not about how much skin you're showing, how perfect your figure is or even having the latest hairstyle -- sexy is all about confidence. Let your personality show but limit yourself to doing, wearing, and being what makes you comfortable. Basic is OK but boring is not.

"It's actually a naturalness that rides along with the confidence, a lack of artifice or efforts to try to be sexy," Dr. Seth Meyers says in Psychology Today. "Those individuals others find sexy don't seem to care if you or anyone think they're sexy - it's like an afterthought or an inadvertent consequence."

Here are some physical ways you can start developing your natural confidence:

Good Fit

Be ruthless in the dressing room and only purchase clothing that flatters your body. Don't change your style or wear anything flashy. Knowing what you have on accentuates your qualities will improve your posture, attitude and outlook.

Under Where?

Don't be afraid to break away from boring bras and panties. No one else may be able to see what is under your outfit, but you'll know that what you're wearing -- like a g string rather than cotton briefs - is fabulous and very sexy, which will boost your confidence. Swap pantyhose for thigh highs -- elastic topped or stockings with a garter belt -- if you're wearing a long skirt or dress.

Pump Up Your Kicks

Serviceable shoes don't have to be boring or ugly, so choose shoes you adore. Whether it's because of their color, a style element or even a crazy design, shoes can be a way to show off your personality. And because your shoe size rarely changes, you can enjoy them for quite a long time.

Get Lippy

Putting some color on your lips can make a big difference in how you view yourself. Maybe pin-up-style red makes you feel confident -- even in jeans. Or perhaps a lightly tinted balm gives you an extra skip in your step. If you look in the mirror and feel you're in costume, try again until you feel like yourself.

Everyone looks better in sunglasses. They protect your eyes, you don't get caught squinting, and give you an air of mystery. As with anything else, be ruthless in choosing items that flatter you and fit your personality. Sunglasses don't have to be expensive to be awesome, and you can choose from outlandish colors and patterns or a classics. such as aviators or ray bans.

If you wear contacts, think about breaking out eyeglasses. The right frames can add visual interest to your face without putting on eye makeup. They can also help express your personality in a simple but functional way.

Signature Scent

Few things are sexier than someone who smells amazing. Every time you're at a department store, try a new scent or two until you find the one that makes you feel fantastic. Don't be afraid to ask for feedback from someone you trust. If you can find a lighter signature scent for daytime and summer as well as a more sensual scent for evenings and special occasions, all the better.
